About Me
Hey!
My name is Alex and I am a fan of politics and sociology. In my free time, I like to read, go hiking, or hit up the thrift store to see if I can find anything good. I've been interested in politics since I was 13 and slowly over time I have come to enjoy the local aspect of politics more than state or national. Local politics is a level in which issues in the community are simply viewed as citizen concerns instead of 'red' or 'blue' concerns. Daniel J. Hopkins said it best in The Increasingly United States by stating, "politics in the United States has become a contest of evocative symbols, and state and local politics are largely devoid of such symbols."
My current aspirations is to get my Master's in Public Administration and start a career on a township or borough level. I plan to be community-focused in my work and fiscally responsible with all projects that are put before me. I want to be constantly learning, enriching my knowledge, and adapting in my field of work to be as useful as possible to the citizens I serve.
